The production of porcelain
The first stage of production is mixing the raw materials (quartz, feldspar, argil and kaolin). Initially the mass of these materials is produced and the items are shaped by using special molds. The first firing of the main mass is done at 950oC. The object resulting is called “biscuit”. Then the items are glazed and there is a second firing at higher temperature of 1.220 oC depending on the decoration method that is used.
After sorting all the white items the decoration is done by experienced and well trained staff. Finally the third firing of the decorated items follows with temperature 850oC or 1.220oC depending on the decoration method that is used.

Decoration methods
Two of the methods used in decorating porcelain are in glaze decoration and on glaze decoration.
Using in glaze decoration, the item is fired at 1.220oC and the colors penetrate into the glaze. So the item becomes resistant and the colors unfading, suitable for frequent use. This method guarantees that the porcelain set is dishwasher safe and will remain new no matter how many years you use it.
Using on glaze decoration, the item is fired at 850oC and the decoration remains on the glaze. On glaze decoration is used in porcelain sets with precious metals such as platinum or gold, in order to preserve their shine.
